dc.description.abstractThe Print Media played an important role in improving the status of women. The twentieth century appropriately has been called as the age of the "Development of Print Media. The official organ of the Women's Indian Association Madras started the journal "Sridharma" in 1917. In 1920 the Journal "Manoranjini" was started by Veduvur Duraisamylyengar. The women's organization and welfare associations actively worked for the betterment of women's education as well as their social status. In this literary renaissance V.M.K. Kodainayaki Animal holds an important place. The media attributed to greater awareness of social problems and particularly highlighted women's problems. The aim of the "All India Women's Conference" is to stress importance of women's education. The Print media controlled by corporate interests concentrated in the metropolitan cities and focused the sufferings and hardships of city girls.en_US
