The purpose of this paper is to seek to investigate the relationship between working capital management and firm value in Sri Lankan firms. Data from 100 Sri Lankan firms a period of five years (2014-2018) are used for this purpose and analysed using the regression technique. The results indicate that there is a strong positive relation between the firm’s cash conversion cycle, number of day’s account payable and firm size and its firm value. Although, number of day’s account receivable and number of day’s inventory are found to be significant with negative sign. Overall the results imply that the Sri Lankan firms need to concentrate their limited resources on managing cash conversion cycle in order to be improve firm value. A. G; Fathima Zahana, M. M Abstract: The work life balance concept attracted by various researches and scholars, it is a trending topic to achieve the organization success today. Hence the organizations are using quality human resource and their work life balance for this purpose. Therefore work-life balance is important not only for employees’ also employers too. Because work life imbalance leads to dissatisfaction in life as well as in workplace. The objective of the study is to assess the factors affecting work life balance of school teachers, for this purpose the study selected three important variables through literature review suit to the study context. Accordingly, workload, social support, childcare was selected as the factors of work life balance as independent variables and work life balance was selected as dependent variable. The researchers used a structured questionnaire to collect the primary data using population study technique. It was possible to collect 82 responses and this data used to analyze the reliability, descriptive statistic, correlation and regression analyses. The results of the analysis found that a negative relationship between workload, childcare with work life balance, also a strong positive relationship found between social support and work life balance. The multiple regression analysis disclosed that 57% variation of work life balance explain by these three variables together. The result of the research will be helpful for the school administrators, to identify the importance of work life balance in order to improve the outcome of their schools. P. Abstract: World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed of a novel coronavirus on the 12th January 2020, as the cause of a respiratory illness in a cluster of people in Wuhan City, China. Even though the fatality ratio for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is comparatively lower than SARS, the transmission is greater. Therefore, Sri Lankan government requested the general public to practice proper hygiene methods and selfquarantine methods to safeguard from this disease. Quarantine Law in Sri Lanka is governed by the Quarantine and Prevention of Disease Ordinance No 3 of 1897. Defence Forces of Sri Lanka played many roles in the fight against COVID-19 and this research is an overview of the contribution they have made towards battling the COVID-19 successfully. The purpose of this research is to identify the effectiveness of the measures taken by the Sri Lankan government and the tri forces to stop COVID-19 spreading, which will provide an example for other countries to follow on how to prepare, detect, and respond to similar outbreaks, which in turn will contribute towards Nations Branding. This research is a qualitative study mainly undertaken with content analysis of the information extracted from secondary data such as publications of the local and foreign governments, research reports from Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO), magazines, newspapers, TV programmes and websites. A few face-to-face and telephone conversations were also conducted with key personnel of the defence forces to obtain an in depth understanding and to clarify the accuracy of the results. The key contributions made by Sri Lanka Army (Army), Sri Lanka Navy (Navy) and Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) were identified in terms of its implications for Nations Branding and, recommendations are made which includes methods to adopt when dealing with COVID 19 in the future. IT investment is a essential part of a system of interrelated firm resources where the level of IT business value depends on the degree of systems fit or misfit. This study drawn on the related literature in IT governance, IT investment performance, business-IT alignment and firm business value. The sample of 34 commercial banks and telecommunication companies in Sri Lanka participated in this study. Accordingly, the findings of this study proved the proposed hypotheses are supported except hypothesis 3. Accordingly, the first hypothesis proved that the IT governance facilitates to create better business - IT alignment. The second hypothesis proved that the IT governance practices create improved IT investment performance for businesses. The fourth hypothesis confirmed that the IT investment performance create firm business value. In contrary to the expectation, the third hypothesis that the business IT alignment and firm business value failed to support. The implications are also suggested from this study finding.
