Abstract: சம காலத்தில் சமூகத்தில் நிகழும் பாரிய ஓர் பிரச்சினையாக காணொளி விளையாட்டை விளையாடும் சிறுவர்கள் உடலியல் சார் வன்நடத்தை, கோபம் சார்ந்த வன்நடத்தை, விரோத ரீதியிலான வன்நடத்தை, வாய்மொழி ரீதியலான வன்நடத்தை போன்றவற்றை சமூகத்தில் பிரயோகிப்பது இனங்காணப்பட்ட பிரச்சினை ஆகும். இதற்கமைய சிறுவர்களின் வன்நடத்தையில் காணொளி விளையாட்டின் தாக்கத்தை கண்டறியும் முகமாக “சிறுவர்களின் வன்நடத்தையில் காணொளி விளையாட்டின் தாக்கம்” எனும் தலைப்பில் ஆய்வு மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டுள்ளது. இவ் ஆய்வானது யாழ்ப்பாணத்தில் உள்ள கொக்குவில் பிரதேசத்தில் ஆய்வு மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டுள்ளது. கொக்குவில் பிரதேசம் எட்டு கிராம சேவைப் பிரிவைக் கொண்டு காணப்படுகின்றமையால் இப் பிரதேசத்தில் காணொளி விளையாட்டை விளையாடும் 100 சிறுவர்கள் ஆய்வுசெய்யப்பட்டுள்ளனர். இவ் ஆய்விற்கு சிறுவர்களில் காணொளி விளையாட்டின் தாக்கத்தையும், அவர்களிடம் காணொளி விளையாட்டால் ஏற்பட்டுள்ள வன்நடத்தையையும் கண்டறியும் முகமாக சுயமாகத் தயாரிக்கப்பட்ட வினாக்கொத்தும், 1992ம் ஆண்டு புஸ் மற்றும் பெரி ஆகியோரால் உருவாக்கப்பட்ட வன்நடத்தை வினாக்காத்தும் (Aggression Questionnaire) ஆய்வுக் கருவியாகப் பயன்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளன. முதலாம் நிலை, இரண்டாம் நிலை தரவுகளை அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்டு தரவுகள் சேகரிக்கப்பட்டு, SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) எனும் சமூக விஞ்ஞானத்திற்கான புள்ளிவிபரவியல் தொகுப்பு மென்பொருள் மூலம் தரவுப் பகுப்பாய்வு மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டுள்ளது. சிறுவர்களின் வன்நடத்தையில் காணொளி விளையாட்டுக்களின் தாக்கத்தை கண்டறிதல் இவ் ஆய்வின் நோக்கம் ஆகும். ஆய்வில் முன்வைக்கப்பட்ட கருதுகோளுக்கான சிறுவர்கள் அதிகம் வன்முறையான காணொளி விளையாட்டுக்களை விளையாடுகிறார்கள், பெண் பிள்ளைகளை விட ஆண்பிள்ளைகள் அதிகம் காணொளி விளையாட்டுக்களில் உள்ள கதாப்பாத்திரங்களை முன்மாதிரியாகக் கொள்கிறார்கள், கூட்டுக் குடும்பங்களை விட தனிக் குடும்பத்தில் வசிக்கும் சிறுவர்கள் அதிகம் காணொளி விளையாட்டின் தாக்கத்திற்குள்ளாகின்றார்கள். சிறுவர்களின் வன்நடத்தைக் காரணிகளான உடலியல் காரணி, வாய்மொழிக் காரணி, கோபம் மற்றும் விரோதம் போன்ற காரணிகளில் பால்நிலை அடிப்படையில் வேறுபாடு காணப்படுகின்றது. சிறுவர்கள் வன்முறையான காணொளி விளையாட்டுக்களை மட்டுமன்றி வன்முறையற்ற காணொளி விளையாட்டுக்களை விளையாடுவதாலும் வன்நடத்தைக்குட்படுகிறார்கள் ஆகியன ஆய்வின் மூலம் நிரூபிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. மேலும் காணொளி விளையாட்டின் தாக்கத்தினால் 44% வீதமான சிறுவர்கள் வன்நடத்தையைக் வெளிப்படுத்துகிறார்கள். அதில் 27% வீதத்தினர் வன்முறையான காணொளி விளையாட்டுக்களை விளையாடுபவர்களாகவும், 17% வீதத்தினர் வன்முறையற்ற காணொளி விளையாட்டுக்களை விளையாடுபவர்களாகக் காணப்படுகின்றனர். அந்தவகையில் வன்முறையான காணொளி விளையாட்டுக்களை விளையாடுபவர்களும், வன்முறையற்ற காணொளி விளையாட்டுக்களை விளையாடுபவர்களும் வன்நடத்தைக்குட்படுகிறார்கள். சிறுவர்களின் வன்நடத்தையில் காணொளி விளையாட்டுக்கள் தாக்கம் செலுத்துகின்றது என்பதும் இவ் ஆய்வின் முடிவாகும். Abstract: இலங்கையின் வடபகுதியில் கி.பி 13 ஆம் நூற்றாண்டில் தோற்றம் பெற்றிருந்த அரசாக யாழ்ப்பாண அரசு அடையாளங்காணப்பட்டுள்ளது. இவ்வரசானது தோற்றம் பெற்ற காலம் முதல் கி.பி 17ஆம் நூற்றாண்டின் முற்பகுதியில் வீழ்ச்சியடையும் வரை அரசியல், பொருளாதார, சமூக, பண்பாட்டு நிலைகளில் சிறந்து விளங்கியிருந்தது. இந்தவகையில் இவ்வரசு பொருளாதார நிலை பொறுத்துச் சிறந்து விளங்குவதற்கு இப்பகுதியில் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டுவந்த வர்த்தக நடவடிக்கைகள் ஓர் காரணமாக விளங்கியிருந்தது. குறிப்பாக யாழ்ப்பாண அரசர்கள் இப்பகுதியின் வளங்கள், உற்பத்திகள் ஆகியவற்றை கருத்தில் கொண்டு சிறந்த பொருளாதாரக் கொள்கையை வகுத்து வர்த்தக நடவடிக்கைகள் சிறப்பாக மேற்கொள்ள வழியமைத்திருந்தனர். இவர்களது பொருளாதாரக் கொள்கைக்குச் சிறந்த எடுத்துக்காட்டு இப்பகுதியின் இயற்கை வளங்களை அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்டு மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டுவந்த வர்த்தக நடவடிக்கைகளை அரசின் ஏகபோக உரிமையின் அடிப்படையில் மேற்கொண்டு வந்தமையாகும். இவ்வாறு சிறந்தவகையில் முன்னெடுக்கப்பட்டு வந்த வர்த்தக நடவடிக்கையானது உள்நாட்டிற்குள்ளும், வெளிநாடுகளுடனும் இடம் பெற்றுவந்தமை குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. உள்நாட்டு வர்த்தக நடவடிக்கை யாழ்ப்பாண இராச்சியத்திற்குள்ளும், கண்டி இராச்சியத்துடனும் தரை மற்றும் கடல் வழியாகவும், வெளிநாட்டு வர்த்தகம் தென்னிந்தியா, சீனா, யாவா, பாரசீகம், கிரேக்க மற்றும் உரோம நாடுகளுடன் கடல்வழியாக இடம்பெற்று வந்தது. இவ் வெளிநாட்டு வர்த்தகம் வடபகுதித் துறைமுகங்களான மாதோட்டம், அரிப்பு, மன்னார், கச்சாய், கொழும்புத்துறை, பருத்தித்துறை, காங்கேசன்துறை, ஊர்காவற்துறை ஆகியவற்றினூடாகவும் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டு வந்தன. இவ்வாறு மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்ட வர்த்தக நடவடிக்கைகளூடாக யாழ்ப்பாண அரசு பொருளாதாரரீதியாக சிறந்த நிலையை அடைந்திருந்ததுடன் சர்வதேச அளவில் புகழ் பெற்றிருந்ததும் குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. யாழ்ப்பாண அரசர் காலத்தில் முன்னெடுக்கப்பட்ட வர்த்தக நடவடிக்கைகள் தொடர்பாக வரலாற்று நோக்கில் ஆய்வு செய்வதாக இக்கட்டுரை எழுதப்பட்டுள்ளதுடன் இலக்கிய மற்றும் தொல்லியல் ஆதாரங்களையும் பயன்படுத்தி எழுதப்பட்டுள்ளது. இவ் ஆய்வுக்கட்டுரை யாழ்ப்பாண அரசர் காலத்திற்கு முன்பான வட இலங்கையின் வர்த்தக நடவடிக்கை தொடர்பாகவும் யாழ்ப்பாண அரசர்கலாத்தில் நடைபெற்ற உள்நாட்டு மற்றும் வெளிநாட்டு வர்த்தக நடவடிக்கை தொடர்பாகவும் ஆய்வுசெய்கின்றது. Religions play a major role in clarifying and systematizing human life patterns, rights, morals, philosophical thinking of the man. The need of the hour is to establish social harmony through religious teaching among the Tamil speaking community in Sri Lanka. Without no doubt, this will bring a chance to eliminate the conflict situation and create social harmony in society. Whenever a man was found going astray, he was guided to the right path for prophets and Messengers. Each Messenger was sent by God to every community. The Messengers belonged to their respective communities and spoke their relevant languages. The Lord has provided them with peculiar scriptures and gospels. In this fame, the sayings used by prophet Muhammad (sal) and the thirukkural which were widely accepted and followed in Islam and Hinduism respectively occupied a remarkable place. It is noteworthy mentioning that there are many types of research been carried out on this regard, of a prophet been sent to the Tamil speaking community and a scripture been given to him, also is there a possibility for Thiruvalluvar to be the prophet sent by the God? In these two scriptures, it generally focuses on many important aspects. For example. The Social unity, the hospitality, the humanist acts, neutrality towards the groups, staying away from backbiting, charity, kindness, about negligence, about forgiveness, about enviousness of the evil, supports to the social unity and Harmony. We must follow all the neutral features and the common features of the various scriptures to build racial and religious harmony in this multinational country where Buddhism, Hinduism and Islam remain as the three main religions. It is important to be interested in the common characteristics that we all share in the common believes and the common virtues that we all share to live and make this country living heaven for the people. This study has been subjected to sociological, comparative and descriptive research method. The first and the second sectors have been used. In the 1st sector hadees etc were used. And in the second sector books and magazines and papers were used. M. M.; Sahna Banu, M. A. Abstract: In the process of learning English as a second language some emotional factors influence learning abilities. The emotional factors are mainly thought to be intelligence, motivation, attitudes and anxiety. Among them, anxiety stands out as one of the most influential factors in learning the English language. It can impede students’ learning process and achievements. Previous research unearthed many reasons for the existence of anxiety among ESL learners. The present study aimed to investigate the anxiety experienced by the ESL students of the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka (SEUSL), identify the factors that led to anxiety and the strategies to overcome it. Mixed methods approach was used covering questionnaire survey, interview and focus group discussion. The participants of the study included 50 undergraduates of SEUSL who learned English as a second language. The data were analyzed manually and using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Results of the present study suggest that majority of the students experience some kind of anxiety in the ESL classes and most of the students face a form of anxiety predominantly during oral tests and in-class presentations. Furthermore, this study suggests measures to rectify the situations; both students and instructors need to carefully deal with the situations that provoke anxiety. In addition, providing a comfortable, friendly learning environment for the ESL undergraduates at the SEUSL is helpful to ease anxiety.
