Title: Awareness of family Takaful among Maruthamunai Muslims awareness of family Takaful among Maruthamunai Muslims
Authors: Nasriya Jahan, M. N. F.
Abstract: The purpose of this study is to measure the level of knowledge of the
people of Maruthamunai regarding Family Takaful. Divide this into two and classify
their level of knowledge in the Family Taka- ful concept, and their level of knowledge
in the Family Takaful operation as primary objective and secondary objective.
Accordingly data are classified into primary data and secondary data. The primary
data is queried from 400 Maruthamunai Muslims. and the secondary data is from
newspapers, magazines, journal articles and Takaful related books. Although it is
very unfortunate that, despite the journal articles, magazines, newspapers and
Takaful related books, peoples' knowledge level low and they have idea that is
haram to engaged. The main findings of this study are to see, what level the
knowledge of Maruthamunai people is in Family Takaful and to reveal the people's
understanding of Takaful and Family Takaful. Accordingly the results and findings
obtained through this study clearly explain them. Accordingly Maruthamunai
people have very low level of knowledge on Takaful and Family Takaful concept.
Besides, it is Haraam for them to get involved in this. And prevent others from
engaging in it. So this is very regrettable and the people of this area are in a situation
where they need to be made aware of this. On this basis, my study was conducted to
show that Takaful and Family Takaful is not forbidden and that it is an insurance
scheme that can help people and that engaging in it will never lead to interest or
anything un-Islamic. It is al- so true that this study I conducted has not been
conducted by anyone before and people have not had the opportunity to learn about
Takaful and Family Takaful. So there is no doubt that this study will not only raise
awareness among the people of Maruthamunai, but will also be useful for future
researchers. So this study will be a coffin for this area people and not to be ignorant
of Takaful and Family Takaful in future.
